To help stop fake medical visas, the Ministry of Interior Affairs has made a new system to check if sponsors and applicants are real. Officials from the Interior Ministry say that this system needs sponsors to confirm their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC). Then, a message will be sent to their phone to make sure everything is correct before the visa application gets approved.
This change is happening because there have been many cases of fake medical visas, especially with Afghan patients who used the system wrongly. The new system is made to prevent cheating and make the visa process safer.
The Ministry of Interior is working with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to get expert advice to make the system even better.
A senior official from the Interior Ministry told Daily Ausaf that they really want to keep the visa system honest and fight against fraud, following directions from Interior Secretary Khurram Agha and Additional Secretary Ayub Chaudhary. The official said, “This new checking system is a good step towards reaching that goal.”
